Our Purpose:

Promoting best practice; influencing policy; providing peer support

By up-skilling & empowering Housing Associations we help take the guess work out of Supported Housing.

SHiP has a range of materials, publications and events to develop best practice in the supported housing sector, and help supported housing providers do their job.

We promote partnership working and work closely with our managing agents to ensure high standards of housing management and compliance with the standards of the Regulator of Social Housing.

We work closely with government departments and other membership bodies to represent the sector and influence policy.

With a SHiP membership you’ll have full access to our quarterly meetings, agency managed toolkits, peer mentoring discussions, good practice publications and our training suite, as well as the opportunity to influence policy development.

SHiP was the originator and is owner of the agency monitoring toolkit.

55+

Registered Providers

SHiP currently has a membership of 55 Registered Providers across England. Our membership ranges from smaller and specialist Housing Associations through to the largest of Housing Associations across the country, but we have one thing in common – we provide supported housing, often in partnership with a partner support provider (managing agent) and we strive to promote good practice and high standards of service across the sector.

400+

Managing Agents

As well as our reach through Registered Providers, SHiP works closely with its managing agents, thus extending our reach, influence and lines of communication widely across the sector.  At any one time we work with over 400 specialist agencies, who deliver housing management across approximately 15,000 units of accommodation, on our members’ behalf.  The SHiP toolkits help us manage and report on this activity and to ensure compliance with the standards of the Regulator.  We have recently launched a pilot training offer that includes our managing agent partners.

30,000+

Properties under management

Our combined portfolios mean that our good practice, training offer and resources reach up to 30,000 supported housing units
